Kia ora whānau,
We are excited to announce that Hinuera School is transitioning to Hero as our new student management system. Many schools highly recommend Hero, and we are eager to bring its benefits to our community.
Our goal is to have 100% of our whānau connected over the coming weeks. Hero will become our primary communication hub, featuring regular posts, interactive messaging, and real-time updates on your child’s learning journey. You can also continue to use the platform to notify us of absences or to message kaiako directly. If you are using Skool Loop to report absences, we would encourage you to use Hero once you've downloaded the app.
As we all navigate this new system, we’ll be leaning on our value of RESILIENCE. We are confident that once we are all up to speed, Hero will greatly enhance the teaching and learning experience here at Hinuera School.
Follow the instructions on the image below and if you have any challenges, we are to help!

Kia ora whānau,
We had a fantastic visit today from Constable Tash, who spoke with our bus students about staying safe on their journeys. Our Hinni Kids did us proud—they already have a great handle on the rules and showed excellent respect during the session.
To keep everyone safe, here is a quick refresher of our bus expectations:
High-Vis: Every child must wear a high-vis vest to and from school.
Stay Seated: Students must remain seated until the bus comes to a complete stop.
Food & Drink: No eating or drinking unless specifically approved by the driver.
The "Two Pole" Rule: When exiting, wait until the bus is two power poles away before attempting to cross the road.
Inside Voices: No shouting or loud noises that might distract the driver.
Important Reminders:
Registrations: If your child needs to use the bus, please alert the office immediately so we can update the Matamata bus network controller.
Queries: Mrs. Williams is our lead kaiako for bus transport. If you have questions or concerns regarding behaviour on the bus, please contact the school office directly so we can follow the correct procedures.
Let’s work together to ensure every Hinni Kid gets to school and home safely every day!
Ngā mihi nui.
